Libecchio sunset
/ 0 Comments / in Misc, SunsetA beautiful Wied iż-Żurrieq sunset photo which shows the setting sun lighting up the cloud bases in red and with sea spray in the foreground. The first thumbnail shows a big wave on the left side contrasting with a setting sun whilst the second thumbnail shows a large sea-wave over Malta’s south-western coast due to pre-frontal Libecchio gales ahead of a cold front as indicated by the actual wind chart on the third thumbnail. This gale force wind event was triggered by an area of low pressure over the Central Mediterranean contrasting with a strong high pressure system to the west. Suspended desert sand was brought about by the SW wind originating from Northern Africa preceding a period of cold weather.
