Foggy sunset
/ 0 Comments / in Misc, SunsetIllusion of a huge sun at sunset caused by the scattering of fog water droplets in the background. The countryside road is clearly wet due to drizzle from the fog. The first thumbnail shows low clouds taken earlier on the day racing by through the hills. Such cloud (called fog if inside it) is known as Stratus nebulosus fractus. The second thumbnail shows a negatively tilted upper trough, the cause of the advection of warm air at upper altitudes helping to trap maritime air forming fog.
