/ 0 Comments / in Misc, Random WeatherPhoto taken from Bahrija in Malta of an unseasonably very dry countryside due to lack of Winter rainfall as the strongest El Nino ever recorded seemed to have pushed the sub-tropical anticyclones unusually far north throughout Winter. Average rainfall from 1st Sept to date was just 235mm or less than 50% if the normal 500mm to that date. Some rural areas around the Maltese Islands have reported less than 200mm of rain as if Malta suddenly became a desert country. Notice the day was quite hazy and cloudy due to low pressure coming from the desert which is normal for early April. The visible satellite image depicts this. The first thumbnail shows another picture of unusually dry cliff base.
