Desert sand haze

A heavy veil of dust due to the same warm conveyor belt that, given other conditions, brought very heavy rain on Catania, Sicily and Athens, Greece. This was caused by a large surge of warm and dusty air from the Sahara desert towards the Central and Eastern Mediterranean Sea. The 500mb shows an upper low coming from Northern Africa.
