The perfect hail shower caused by one of those showers which was clearly visible on the visible satellite image on the top right hand side of this web page. The showers of the day had been in periods of rain/hail with wind increasing during these. Each and every one of these showers were caused from one individual cloud on the map. The weather sounding depicts the atmospheric profile at noon of the day. It clearly shows a low freezing level of just under 1.2km and clouds in the lower atmosphere composed of ice crystals hence the hail showers.
