High-cloud moonrise
/ 0 Comments / in Misc, Random WeatherThe moon at dusk above high-level clouds indicating very thin layer of cloud barely able to cover it. The cloud cover could have been cirrus fibratus but wind at an altitude of 12km was only Force 8 (36 knots). The first thumbnail shows high-level clouds just before sunset (mix of cirrus and cirrocumulus virga). A weak upper ridge was present over the Central Mediterranean.
