Very beautiful sun rays in the background as cumulus clouds move towards the Maltese Islands. The 500mb chart showed instability over the Islands (2nd thumbnail). The first thumbnail shows cumulus radiatus clouds with sunrays in the foreground. These clouds were part of a local Sicilian thunderstorm which is explained in detail here.
