Precipitation-shaft rainbow

A rather rare rainbow in which the falling rain (white sheet) could be clearly seen underneath the base of the cloud. Of course, the morning November sun was shining on the opposite side of my photo. Clouds on the day were initiated by the an upper cold pool of air underneath a rather warmer sea than usual for that time of year. Further explanation of the weather conditions on this day can be found here.
