Formation of cirrus clouds with undulations in the background ahead of an intensifying mid-latitude cyclone approaching the Maltese Islands. These clouds normally indicate that bad weather is on the way as was with this case. The low pressure system was guided southeastwards by an upper-level ridge over Northern Europe.
