Ci floccus

Formation of seemingly entangled but individual cirrus clouds forming at altitudes of between 9100 metres and 10500 metres according to the weather sounding on the first thumbnail. Hence, it was decided to go for the species floccus rather than fibratus because the fibrous trails look like being ice crystals virga rather than part of the cloud. The day was dominated by a high pressure system. The photo also indicated cumulus clouds and stratocumulus stratiformis perlucidus as observed in the same weather sounding. The formation behind the low cloud cover was explained here ‘Sc stratiformis perlucidus‘.
