Ci fibratus
/ 0 Comments / in Cirrus, High LevelsCirrus fibratus with seperate filament clouds indicating the approach of an upper-level trough at 500mb height. One must note that this trough had never actually made it`s way towards the Maltese Islands, instead travelling eastwards across Sicily. A relatively strong jet stream (140kmh) was present over the Maltese Islands hence spreading the cloud widely as it did. The other photo shows high-level clouds earlier during that morning possibly more than one sub-species including `Cirrus uncinus` due to some wind shear.
