Formation of cotton-like mid-level clouds as warm airmass was rising towards the Maltese Islands due to an upper-level trough over the Western Mediterranean with the weather sounding showing moisture at the 4km level. The surface pressure showed a cold front that was pasing over the Maltese Islands that could have initiated these clouds to form as afterwards wind veered from the NW and increased.
