These altocumulus clouds are actually precipitating but their precipitation is not reaching the ground due to drier air and also because they are isolated. It is noticed that when widespread, satellite images indicate that these clouds are raining but is actually not raining on the ground as first they have to moisten the air beneath them as such clouds are so high. The meteogram pic shows upper-level clouds with dry air underneath them indicating the ideal conditions for such clouds to form.
