Formation of lens-shaped altocumulus clouds following the dissipation of stratocumulus clouds. It seemed that enough moisture was present so that the mountain-lee waves propogations from the Atlas mountains would be observable over the Maltese Islands. The first thumbnail is another view of the same cloud as it quickly dissipated. The second thumbnail is the weather sounding showing very strong upper-level WNW winds.
