Formation of local clouds that sometimes form over Malta due to surface heating. This time instability was limited to the lower 3km of the atmosphere (as seen in the sounding). Hence there were no cumulonimbus despite the ongoing presence of a nearby cold air pool at an altitude of 850mb (around 1.5km altitude).
