Cu congestus

Formation of a line of cumulus clouds due to instability as described in the next photo taken earlier. Click on the thumbnails for further views of cumulus congestus clouds that formed on the day and the classical high over low surface pressure which typically leads to unstable weather over the Mediterranean Sea and Malta. The bottom thumbnail shows the heavy precipitation (rainfall) that occured due to this cut-off or isolated upper-level low.
