Cu congestus

Formation of cumulus cloud over mainland Malta under relatively stable conditions due to marine sea breezes over land interacting with a prevailing very light Westerly wind. Such a weather situation is common in late Summer and under unstable conditions this could trigger thunderstorms over land. In fact, the first thumbnail shows a distant cumulonimbus incus cloud over Sicily and the third thumbnail confirms onshore wind all over Sicily causing thunder-showers.
