Such a weather situation is common in late Summer and under unstable conditions this could trigger thunderstorms over land. In fact, the first thumbnail shows a distant cumulonimbus incus cloud over Sicily and the third thumbnail confirms onshore wind all over Sicily causing thunder-showers.
