Ci spissatus

A thick patch of cirrus spissatus cloud which is obscuring the sun. At the bottom of it, some mamma is visible. The first thumbnail shows another photo of exactly the same cloud species approaching the Maltese Islands heralding the arrival an Atlantic low pressure system that was about to pass over the the Islands as indicated by the surface pressure chart and the satellite image on the second and third thumbnails respectively. Furthermore, notice the cumuliform development of this cloud species especially when viewing the first thumbnail photo. The weather sounding on the fourth thumbnail did not give any indication of these clouds hence the possibility that these were remanants of former cumulonimbus clouds could not be ignored since the winds were already coming from the west.
